Last Friday we had the privilege of attending the Community Energy Awards 2024, hosted at M Shed in the lovely Bristol! We were very lucky to have been shortlisted for the Fuel Poverty Action Award, which celebrates ‘the remarkable contributions of community energy organisations in addressing the multifaceted challenges of fuel poverty and energy efficiency in England.’ About the shortlisted nomineesA huge congratulations to Energise Barnsley who took home the win, and a special shoutout to the other groups nominated in our category who are doing amazing things to support people in our communities who need it most.
Energise Barnsley were nominated for delivering renewable energy to low income homes, Energise Barnsley has installed solar on 321 social housing units, batteries on 143 homes & heat pumps in 40 homes. Over the past 2 years, Heart of England Community Energy have generated £226,541 in savings and income for participants through energy efficiency measures and grants. National Energy Action (NEA) offers direct financial support, including crisis funds, fuel debt relief, and energy efficiency measures, bringing clients with over £4.6 million in immediate financial support.
