FREE home Energy ADVICE

Struggling with your energy bills but not sure where to begin?
Speak to our energy advisors for free, impartial advice and support.

About THIS SERVICE

We understand the financial pressures the current energy crisis is causing, particularly for people on low incomes or benefits. We are here to help. Our energy advice service is split across two key areas: South London and Hackney.

Hackney

CREW works in partnership with Hackney Council and community organisations across the borough to offer FREE fuel poverty and energy-saving advice to residents.

So far, we have helped 1,256 Hackney residents since launching in April 2024.

South London

We work in partnership with Habitats & Heritage to provide a FREE energy service in the boroughs of Richmond, Wandsworth, Merton and Kingston. This service is called the South West London Energy Advice Partnership (SWLEAP).

We host regular drop-in sessions in libraries, children's centres and food banks, plus free home energy visits.

How it works

Free, impartial advice
Get advice on your energy use and bills, plus support with your water bills and any discount schemes you may be eligible for. We can also refer you to any other services you may need, such as debt and benefits advice, and provide fuel vouchers.

We host regular drop-in sessions in libraries, food banks and more across south-west London and Hackney.

Home energy visits
This service is specifically designed for people who need help and support with keeping warm and paying their bills. It is available to residents in the boroughs of Hackney, Wandsworth, Richmond, Kingston and Merton.

A trained energy advisor will visit your home at a time to suit you. They will work with you to analyse your energy usage, heating system, insulation, lighting and energy behaviours (such as leaving lights on in empty rooms!).

Following your home visit, you will receive an energy saving report outlining our top energy saving tips personalised to your home to maximise reducing your energy bill.
