How it works

Picture
Free, impartial advice
Get advice on your energy use and bills, plus support with your water bill and any discount schemes you may be eligible for. We can also refer you to any other services you may need, such as debt and benefits advice, and provide fuel vouchers.

We host regular drop-in sessions in libraries, food banks and more across south-west London and Hackney. See above for dates of our latest drop-ins.

Home visits
A trained energy advisor will visit your home at a time to suit you. They will work with you to analyse your energy usage, heating system, insulation, lighting and energy behaviours (such as leaving lights on in empty rooms!).

Following your home visit, you will receive an energy saving report outlining our top energy saving tips personalised to your home to maximise reducing your energy bill.

Energy-saving devices
You may be eligible for free energy saving items, which we can install at no cost, such as low-energy lightbulbs (LEDs), radiator heat reflectors and insulation materials. We can also lend you an ‘Owl Energy Monitor’ to help you understand your electricity use at home!

Throughout winter we distribute free warm home packs to eligible households in Richmond and Wandsworth. To be eligible, you must:
  • Live in one of these two boroughs
  • Have a household income of less than £40,000 per year, or
  • Have an EPC rating of D or below

This winter, we distributed over 2,500 warm home packs. Stay tuned for when these will be returning in autumn 2025.

Find out more about the service for winter 23/24 on your council's website:
  • Richmond Council
  • Wandsworth Council
