We are a team of volunteers working to bring community energy to Wandsworth and surrounding boroughs. We not only bring a huge amount of passion and enthusiasm for community renewable energy but also a wealth of relevant experience to succeed.
Toby Costin Director Toby has worked in the energy industry for 18 years. He runs a company that develops sustainable energy programmes for third sector organisations. Toby feels that community energy has an important role to play in working with the third sector, to lift people out of fuel poverty and to make them more energy literate. He has been a CREW Director since 2016. Leonie Cooper AM Director Leonie Cooper AM was elected to the London Assembly in May 2016 and re-elected in 2021 with a more than three-fold increase in her majority. Since 2016, she has led for Labour on Environment & Energy. Leonie chaired the Assembly’s Environment Committee from 2016-2018, and was Deputy Chair 2018-2021. Deputy Chair again from 2022, in May 2023 she will become the Environment Chair again. Prior to her election in May 2016, Leonie worked in the field of environmental sustainability and campaigned on air quality - an issue she has continued to work on since being elected. She has been a member of CREW since 2016. Chinazo Anaele Chinazo has been working on projects to drive energy efficiency and alleviate fuel poverty for several years. He holds a Masters in Climate Change and Sustainable Development. Chinazo’s key motivations are to deliver continuous proactive change and make a positive impact when it comes to reducing carbon and costs whilst improving people’s wellbeing. He conducts home energy efficiency visits, bid writing, client reporting and provides support on projects pertaining to decarbonising local homes and community buildings. |
Armelle Lee Director Armelle joined CREW in 2019 as a volunteer energy advisor whilst on her placement year for her BSc degree in Geography with Economics at Loughborough University. She has since been involved as a member of the core CREW team, working on bid writing, fuel poverty activities and projects working towards decarbonising local homes and community buildings. In March 2023, she was elected director. Armelle is dedicated to tackling fuel poverty and is passionate about empowering the local community on this issue. Yunus Emre Nas Director Yunus is a CREW Director and a recent Environmental Science graduate who is passionate about the environment and climate change. Keen to put his knowledge and skills in to practice, Yunus hopes to make an impact through CREW and help make London a more environmentally friendly and sustainable city. Julia Sztucka Julia joined CREW as a volunteer energy advisor in January 2020. Now, she is still helping vulnerable clients, but also supporting with social media and marketing. Joining CREW has inspired her even more to study Sustainable Resources MSc at UCL, where she began studying in September 2020. Aside from community energy, Julia’s sustainability interests are around circular economy, climate justice and resource governance in the Global South. |
Steve Jones COO Steve is a qualified accountant who has held positions as COO of E&Y, BZW & Lehman Brothers. Over the last 10 years, he has worked as a part-time COO for a number of early-stage companies and start-ups, alongside a number of start-up businesses. Whilst reading Chemical Engineering in the 80s he initially read about global warming. This came full circle in 2022 when he decided to focus the majority of his professional life looking to have a positive impact on the combatting the climate emergency. He has been involved with CREW since 2020 and was elected director in March 2023 as COO with a particular focus on financial aspects. Amy Reid director Amy has been providing volunteer communications and marketing support since January 2019 and in March 2023 was elected Director. She is passionate about the environment, sustainability and social justice, using her time to manage CREW's communications, including social media, website and blog. Andrea Kociscakova Andrea has been working as an Energy Advisor since 2010 advising domestic and commercial customers on best practices in preventing heat loss and minimising energy costs. She is passionate about resolving environmental problems, sharing expertise and progressing towards a sustainable future. She has a Master's degree in Environmental Science, combined with extensive industry experience and sound technical knowledge and also works part-time as an assessor/advisor for Citizens Advice. |

- Hand out leaflets for our phone advice line in south-west London (Wandsworth, Merton and Lambeth)
- Broaden our reach across south-west London to find new community organisations to support
- Increase our public profile through social and traditional media
- Manage the delivery of energy projects with community partners
