REUSING & REFUSING

REUSING

To reduce your carbon footprint, try buying in charity shops and vintage shops or simply buy less. You can also shop vintage and second hand online, good sites would be Vinted, Depop, eBay and Instagram vintage profiles. Here are some Instagram shops to recommend:

Try reusing envelopes, any old packaging to send parcels, old paper for notes, this is the creative part!

More tips can be found on Recyclenow.com and internet blogs, for example this list is very useful.

Sustainable Merton also shared some very creative tips here.

REFUSING

The best way to cut down on your waste is to avoid plastic and packaging altogether. While this can be difficult in conventional supermarkets, you can use reusable bags, say 'no' to plastic bags and there are also plenty of zero-waste and refill shops in SW London. We've listed a few examples in Wandsworth and Richmond, but you can find your nearest store on the Useless London website.
