June was a very busy month for CREW and the many strings to our bow. We took part in Community Energy Fortnight, Coop Fortnight, Virtual Lobbying of MP for Putney, Southfields and Roehampton - Fleur Anderson (pictured above) - and part one of London Climate Action Week. This community movement across the capital and country was just another display of how being apart has only brought us closer together!
Community Energy Fortnight

Every year, Community Energy Fortnight is our chance to shout about all the wonderful things that are happening in the (perhaps lesser-known) community energy sphere. This year, we were invited by Community Energy England to host their first ever Twitter takeover under the theme #HarnessOurPower. We had a wonderful time chatting with their 3,000+ followers, discussing our plans for the future, how we've been adapting to the coronavirus climate, how we see the future of community energy and much, much more. Catch up on all the action here.

Coop Fortnight

Not many realise that we are a form of co-operative. This year's theme #KeepCooperating was the perfect opportunity to join in on social media and showcase what we and our fellow coops have been working on throughout COVID-19! Catch up here.

#TheTimeIsNow

Organised by The Climate Coalition, the first every virtual MP lobby saw virtual cups of tea with more than 200 MPs in a single day, turning ourselves off mute to say #TheTimeIsNow for a green and fair recovery. We joined the lobby (in the form of our Chair, Toby) for Putney, Southfields and Roehampton with MP Fleur Anderson to discuss action on carbon reduction, local green spaces on estates, community energy, building, air pollution and school streets. Catch up on the highlights of the event here.

London Climate Action Week (part 1)

This event only began in 2019 but has since grown and grown. This year, the event has been split into two, with the first instalment (1-3 July) going fully online: webinars, social media sharing, online events and more. We shared plenty of information on social media and hopped on a few calls to see what our fellow Londoners are up to. Stay tuned for the second half later this year - 14-20 November 2020!
